A Grand Junction man suffered minor injuries after crashing into construction equipment late Friday night.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to the single vehicle incident on N Avenue near 100th Street at 11:44pm. The Sheriff’s Office says Zachary Dearborn of Grand Junction was traveling on N Avenue, or County Road P-29, when he drove a 2010 Toyota Corolla around road closed signs and struck a construction tractor, because the road is part of a re-paving project.

Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio the tractor sustained major damage and the Corolla was totaled. He says Dearborn was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by the Greene County Ambulance Department with minor injuries. Williams states that charges are pending lab results for suspected alcohol use. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
