The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team played a pair of games at the Baseball Complex in Glenwood on Saturday, as they earned the split.

ADM defeated the host team of Glenwood 10-3 in the first game, then fell 4-3 to Sergeant Bluff-Luton in the second game. In the matchup versus the Rams, the Tigers scored a single run in the top of the first, then captured three in the top of third and one more in the fourth to lead 5-0. Glenwood responded with three in the bottom of the fourth to get back into the game at 5-3, but ADM separated themselves getting two runs in the fifth and three in the top of the seventh inning to take them to a 10-3 victory.

The Tigers that scored runs included Alex Jensen, who had three, followed by Leyton Gerleman’s two runs, then it was one run from Jaxson Book, Cael Stanford, Jack Siefken, Reid Kluesner, and Cole Waddingham. Pitching wise for ADM, Ben Grife went five innings, allowed four hits, three runs, walked one batter, and captured five strikeouts. Mason Entriken recorded two innings and struck out a batter.

In the second versus Sergeant Bluff-Luton, ADM scored one run in the bottom of the first inning, before the Warriors tied it in the top of the second. The Tigers would get one run in the bottom of the fourth, then both teams scored in the fifth as ADM held a 3-2 advantage. In the top of the seventh inning, Sergeant Bluff-Luton got two more runs and the Tigers couldn’t get anymore as the final score would be 4-3.

Jensen, Entriken, and Cade Fisher were the three individuals that tallied runs for ADM, as Jensen started on the mound, going five innings, allowed seven hits, two runs, and walked one batter. Grant Jansen went two innings, allowed two hits, two runs, and struck out two batters.

The Tigers are now 6-11 on the season, as they will travel to the Nite Hawk Baseball Diamond in Slater tonight for a double header against Ballard, starting at 5pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the second game on K107.9 KKRF approximately at 7pm.
