
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team had their conference double header cut short due to weather against Ballard in Slater, losing the first game 6-4 and currently trail in the second game 5-0 with a potential make up date on Thursday.
In the first game, the Tigers came out hot scoring three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. The advantage would remain until the Bombers exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to take charge at 5-3. ADM got one back in the top of the fifth inning to bring the score to a 5-4 deficit, before Ballard garnered a single run in the bottom of the sixth inning to carry them to a 6-4 win.
Tiger senior Jaxson Book led the way with two runs scored, followed by senior Cade Fisher and junior Auggie Young who captured one run each. Losing pitcher was ADM senior Grant Jansen, who went six innings, allowed seven hits, six runs, walked a batter, and struck out five. Bomber senior Jacob Luster picked up the win on the mound going seven innings, allowed six hits, four runs, and had eight strikeouts.
Raccoon Valley Radio had the broadcast of the second game that did not finish, but Ballard currently holds a 5-0 advantage in the bottom of the third inning. Starting pitcher for ADM is Book, who through 2.1 innings had allowed five runs on three hits, has walked four batters and struck out three. Bomber sophomore Bryce Miller is on the mound and has given up three hits, walked one batter, and tallied three strikeouts.
According to ADM Activities Director Rod Wiebers, the potential make up date to finish the second game will be tentatively scheduled for Thursday, with a time to be determined.
