The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District will be implementing a new curriculum to help teachers in the 2025-26 academic year.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the district is going to use the “Teach Like A Champion” model, which is based off of a book that highlights 63 teaching techniques to help administrators put out the best academic product possible for students. He shares specifics about the strategies the book tackles.

“Everything from how to increase the amount of time students are thinking about important things in your classroom, classroom management and dealing with classroom behavior is also part of it. So, we’re just really excited about how actionable the techniques are and these are things that teachers can go back and use right away in their classrooms.”

Dufoe is hoping that this method will simplify the curriculum for teachers. He adds that the author of “Teach Like A Champion” Doug Lemov will be the keynote speaker at the 2026 Experiencing Success Today Conference in February.
