
Mason Hayes roped a line drive single that drove in Owen Myers as Perry walked off Greene County 5-4 in Principal Park on Monday.
The Rams took an early lead with a three run second in the home of the Iowa Cubs. Crew Connor tripled and drove in two to help take the lead. Connor dominated for five innings for Greene County as the Rams led 3-0 heading to the sixth. The Bluejays got to the right hander in the sixth for two runs and went home happy after the late rally for three in the seventh. Perry reached base with four straight hits in the final frame to walk it off. Geren Kenney started the party with a single with one out. Reid Ibed brought him home with a triple to right center. Owen Myers plated Iben with a sharp single up the middle. An error and stolen base got Myers to third as Mason Hayes finished the game with his hit over the right fielder.
Myers and Hayes each had two hits and an RBI. Gabriel Beato tied the single season run battled in record with his 15th on the year after a ground out in the sixth.
Ian Fisher earned the win in relief going the final three 2/3 innings.
Connor went six 1/3 innings in the loss. He surrendered ten hits, five runs, three walks, and struck out two.
Perry improves to 3-14 (3-7) while Greene County falls to 1-10 (1-9).
The Bluejays host PCM tonight at 5P.
