After enduring some severe weather last night in portions of the Raccoon Valley Radio area, there is potential for additional severe weather happening later today
According to the National Weather Service, all of Dallas and Guthrie Counties and half of Greene County are at a slight risk for severe weather, which is a category two on the five category risk scale. The National Weather Service says the main threats with these possible severe storms include large hail, gusty winds between 60 and 70 miles per hour and heavy rainfall. There is also the potential for flash flooding and some rivers could exceed flood stages today through Thursday.
The National Weather Service anticipates the severe weather threats to occur after 3pm today. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team will provide live coverage anytime there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning issued for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie Counties, until the storms either move out of our coverage area or drop below severe levels.
