
Perry softball trailed Prairie City-Monroe 8-0 in the fifth inning as the contest was postponed on Monday in Perry.
The Mustangs plated two in the second and six in the fourth to pull away before Mother Nature had other ideas. The game was paused at the top of the fifth with the bases loaded. Jaylyn Robb set to pitch to Addi Hudnut with no outs.
The Jayettes managed two hits through the first four innings from Cate Erickson and Karagyn Whelchel.
Tina Kanealy got the start as the senior was pulled just before the delay. She surrendered eight hits and seven runs.
The remainder of the game will be made up at a later date.
Perry travels to Roland-Story on Wednesday for a conference doubleheader.
