
On Tuesday the West Central Valley Wildcats played host and swept the Madrid Tigers. Wildcat softball picked up a 4-2 victory while WCV baseball defeated Madrid 9-1.
In the softball contest, West Central Valley’s Grace Bleckwehl would pitch the entire contest, pitching for seven innings allowing only two runs in the 4-2 victory over Madrid. West Central Valley would take the lead in the bottom of the first notching in two runs as Mila Orr would hit a two RBI double. The Wildcats would score one more run in the bottom of the second, allow one run in the fifth, and one in the sixth before the Wildcats would score the final run in the bottom of the sixth to secure the 4-2 victory.
In the baseball contest, a big sixth inning would put West Central Valley ahead of the Tigers as Colton Lindsay would drive in a run off a single. Dlouhy would get the starting nod for the Wildcats, allowing only one run through four complete innings before being relieved by Lindsay in the fifth. The Wildcats would notch in five runs in the sixth to secure a 9-1 victory over the Tigers.
Both Wildcat teams are at home again today as West Central Valley plays host to Nodaway Valley. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 7pm.
