The Brenton Arboretum in Dallas Center is gearing up for a debut musical outing on Saturday.

Executive Director Melissa Burdick tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the inaugural Concert on the Prairie will be a family friendly event that will be headlined by 2023 Iowa Music Awards Acoustic Artist of the Year Luke Stutzman. She shares how the idea came about to start the Concert on the Prairie.

“Just from concerts that we’ve had in the past, people every now and then ask ‘when are you going to do a concert again,’ and it’s always a really good experience and a nice vibe coming out to enjoy the Arboretum and listen to some nice music, and have good company.”

Burdick indicates that tickets cost $20 for arboretum members and $25 for non-members, and must be purchased ahead of time. She welcomes people to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on, as there will be food and beverages available. The concert is happening at the Brenton Arboretum, 25141 260th Street, in Dallas Center from 6-8pm, as the doors will open at 5pm. Tickets for the concert can be purchased by clicking here.
