Mother nature has dictated several postponements in sporting events this week, with Monday’s Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Ballard’s second game of the baseball double header suspended in the third inning, but is set to resume today, as Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast from Slater.

ADM’s game against Carlisle will be made up today at 11am in Adel, after being postponed yesterday. The Tigers fell short to the Bombers in the first game, losing 6-4. To recap the first game, ADM scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. The advantage would remain until Ballard exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to take charge at 5-3. The Tigers got one back in the top of the fifth inning to bring the score to a 5-4 deficit, before the Bombers garnered a single run in the bottom of the sixth inning to carry them to a 6-4 win.

ADM senior Jaxson Book led the way with two runs scored, followed by senior Cade Fisher and junior Auggie Young who captured one run each. The losing pitcher was Tiger senior Grant Jansen, who went six innings, allowed seven hits, six runs, walked a batter, and struck out five. Ballard senior Jacob Luster picked up the win on the mound going seven innings, allowed six hits, four runs, and had eight strikeouts.

The second game sees the Bombers leading 5-0 over the Tigers in the bottom of the third inning. Raccoon Valley Radio will pick the broadcast up on K107.9 KKRF, resuming at 5pm from the Nite Hawk Baseball Diamond in Slater.
