Adair’s annual town celebration is going on this weekend, starting today.

Adair Chamber of Commerce President Ashley Smith says that Chuckwagon Days starts tonight at 5pm, with the Good Shepard bake sale at the community center, followed by the kids parade at Adair City Park at 6pm, with the announcement of Little Mr and Miss Adair and the Citizen of the Year, along with the baby crawl. She explains that they will also have a face painter from 6:30-8:30pm, along with a critter crawl. Smith tells Raccoon Valley Radio what the Chamber would like from this year’s Chuckwagon Days.

“A good weekend for people to come relax. We know it’s going to be a warm one. We will have some cooling towels to hand out for people or to purchase at the beer tent that we’ll have. But we’re hoping that we have enough activities that can hit all age ranges that people can come out and enjoy the weekend. We know everyone’s been super busy with ball and end of school stuff, and this is just a good way to get their summer going.”

Smith mentions that the beer tent will be open from 6:30-11pm, and that there will also be a bags tournament at 7pm, with live music from Who Nu from 7-10pm. She adds that food options on Friday night include a meal served by the fire department beginning at 5pm, with the Eggroll Ladies serving from 5-8pm, A-Town Smokeshack serving from 5-9pm, Snack Shack open from 6:30-8:30pm, and Squeezing Lemons open from 6-10pm.
