The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball were able to finish their double header from Monday versus Ballard in Huxley, as the second game was suspended due to weather, with an offensive explosion by marking a 21-2 victory and their eighth straight win.
The Tigers held off a furious rally by the Bombers for an 11-7 victory in game number one on Monday. The second game was delayed in the top of the third inning after lightning was spotted in the area, and with ADM leading 4-0, the teams were forced to retire for the night, and would resume Thursday morning at 11am.
The days between seemed to wake up the bats for the Tigers as they would score eight runs in the third inning, and nine in the fourth to lead 21-0 going into the bottom half. Ballard was able to nab two runs to avoid the shutout with ADM taking it 21-2 in four innings, but nearly every player tallied a run for the Tigers.
Aniston Tollari led the way scoring four runs individually, followed by Elliotte Von Roden and Makenna Pitlick who notched three runs apiece. Lauren Hagedorn, Madi James, Peyton Herrick, and Lauryn Troster all grabbed two runs, then it was one run scored for Kate Darling, Kinzie Maxwell, and Ellis Smith.
The winning pitcher was Tiger freshman Reese Vande Noord, who went four innings, allowed one hit, two runs, walked five batters, and captured two strikeouts. Bomber pitcher Emmalyn Kruse went three innings, allowed 18 hits, 17 runs, walked four batters, and struck out four. Freshman Cailey Horner went an inning, allowed five hits, four runs, walked a batter, and had one strikeout.
Ballard falls to 6-13 overall (2-4 inside the Raccoon River Conference) as ADM improves to 14-5 overall (6-3 RRC) and are winners of their last eight games. The Bombers will be hosting Johnston tonight at 7pm, while the Tigers will be participating in the Kiwanis Tournament today and tomorrow in Roland at the Hennessy Diamonds North Field, with a matchup versus Estherville Lincoln Central at 1pm, then facing Mount Vernon at 5pm.
