
On Thursday, the West Central Valley Wildcat baseball and softball team traveled to Earlham for double header action against the Cardinals. Wildcat baseball would fall in both games, 7-2 and 4-1 while WCV softball would split the decision, falling in game one 8-5 then bouncing back in game two to win 2-1.
Wildcat baseball would have Tyson Partlow on the mound for game one and Colton Lindsay and Hyrum Egger for game two. Partlow would pitch the entire first game, pitching for six innings allowing nine hits, seven runs with two walks and two strikeouts. In game two, Lindsay would begin on the mound and pitch for 6.2 innings before Egger would relieve him in the sixth. Lindsay would allow seven hits and four runs with three strikeouts in the 4-1 loss to Earlham.
In the softball contests, West Central Valley would bounce back in game two after falling 8-5 in game one. Meleah Speichinger would pitch the entire second game, striking out six while allowing five hits and only one run. Speichinger, Macy Long, Lily Clausen, and Addi Richter would all have hits with Richter and Maren Hoffmann having the two lone RBIs in the 2-1 victory over the Cardinals.
Wildcat baseball falls to 5-11-2 while WCV softball advances to 10-8. Wildcat softball returns to action today at in Madrid to face off against the Tigers. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
