Dallas County 4-H’ers should be aware that the deadline to register their exhibits for the county fair is happening tomorrow.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dallas County Youth Coordinator Annie Schlieman emphasizes tomorrow is the cut off date to register all static and animals to be eligible for the fair. She says there will be no rabbit retinal imaging, and the Extension office is doing pullorum testing this year, which 4-H Superintendent Jamie Wilkerson will be connecting with the poultry kids to handle that.

Schlieman mentions that tomorrow’s deadline is not applicable for 4-H’ers that are planning to show livestock or animals at the Iowa State Fair, as that will be extended to July 1st. She expresses that if 4-H’ers don’t register their animal or static exhibit by tomorrow, then they will not be able to show at this year’s Dallas County Fair. For those that are having trouble registering, Schlieman encourages them to either email her at annek@iastate.edu.
