Outstanding Pitching From Pitlick and Hagedorn Garner 9th Straight Win for ADM Softball

Adel-DeSoto-Minburn sophomore Makenna Pitlick and junior Lauren Hagedorn pitched a shutout on Friday, as the Tigers needed a single run to win 1-0 in nine innings over the Mustangs of Mount Vernon in the Kiwanis Softball Tournament in Roland to nab their ninth straight victory.

ADM and Mount Vernon had stellar pitching performances, as Mustang sophomore Hayden Gookin went all 9 innings, allowing 4 hits, and captured 12 strikeouts. For the Tigers, Pitlick pitched 3 innings, allowed 2 hits, walked a batter, and struck out 3, while Hagedorn went 6 innings and tallied 8 strikeouts.

As the game went past the regular seven-inning mark, ADM freshman Peyton Herrick was placed on second base, before senior Madi James reached first base on an error made from Mount Vernon freshman Sophia Patten, advancing Herrick to third. Then stepping up to the plate for the Tigers was freshman Addison Siedelmann who got a sacrifice bunt to score Herrick for the go-ahead run. ADM marked three outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to hang on for the 1-0 win, improving to 15-5 overall.

The Tigers will be playing two more games in the Kiwanis Softball Tournament today versus Solon at 3pm and South Hamilton at 5:30pm from the Hennessy Diamonds North Field in Roland.
