
On Friday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs baseball team traveled to Indianola High School for double header action against the Indians. Both teams would win a game in the double header, with Indianola picking up the win in game one 4-2 while DCG would come out victorious in game two 6-4.
In game one, Indianola would score one run from the bottom of the third, to the bottom of the sixth to pick up the 4-2 victory. Chase Engel would get the starting nod pitching for 5.1 innings allowing five hits with four runs while Jaxson Seidl would close out the game getting the two final outs allowing no hits and no runs. Tate Perrin and Taitn Gray would get the lone two hits for the Mustangs in the 4-2 loss.
In game two, Cross Bandy would pitch for six complete innings allowing only three hits and four runs with three strikeouts while Seidl would come in to close again pitching for one inning. The Mustangs would have four RBIs in game two, as Perrin and Bandy would have one RBI while Brady Smith would have two RBIs to help the Mustangs defeat Indianola 6-4.
Mustang baseball is out of action until Wednesday where the Mustangs play host to the Newton Cardinals for double header action. First pitch is scheduled for 5pm for game one and 7pm for game two.
