Late Tuesday night, a crash involving three vehicles ended in a fatality in Guthrie County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol (ISP), 60 year old Jerry Hager of Coon Rapids was driving eastbound on Highway 141 in his Chevy Impala, when he crossed the centerline and side swiped a Jeep Wrangler that was heading westbound and driven by 56 year old Michele Pudenz of Carroll. After hitting Pudenz, Hager’s vehicle continued into the westbound lane and struck a GMC Terrain driven by 26 year old Gillian Streit of Manilla.

Pudenz and Streit’s vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane, while Hager’s vehicle came to rest in the eastbound lane. According to the report submitted by the ISP, Hager was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and received fatal injuries. Both Pudenz and Streit are reported to have been wearing their seatbelts. The ISP was assisted by the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office and Panora Emergency Medical Services.
