On Thursday afternoon, a Rippey woman died from injuries from a riding lawnmower accident.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and Greene County Ambulance responded at 3:35pm to the call in the 2100 block of W Avenue. Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio 51-year-old Heather Lansman had been on a riding lawnmower and went near a creek, when the embankment suddenly gave way.
He says the lawnmower rolled on top of Lansman in the creek that was three or four feet deep where she passed away from her injuries. She was the secretary with Paton-Churdan School District.
A visitation for Lansman will be held next Sunday, June 29th at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Perry Chapel in Perry from 4-7pm. A Celebration of Life Service will take place the following day on Monday at 11am at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.
