Head coach Will Gormally gave his Wildcat baseball team the weekend off due to the heat. The Wildcats face off in a local battle today as West Central Valley plays host to ACGC Charges. Both teams will finish the seventh inning of June 6th’s game that was suspended due to the lights turning off. First pitch of tonight’s scheduled game will begin after June 6th’s game concludes.
Coach Gormally looks forward to a fresh group of Wildcats on the diamond today after giving the boys the weekend off to recover from the heat,
“Resting is difficult you know, especially with the small school with other off-season sports happening as well on top of baseball. I gave my guys the day off Friday. I gave them a little bit of like homework assignment so they were physically off, but mentally still thinking about baseball. That’s kind of an approach I use sometimes as well especially with the heat that we had Friday into this weekend but usually there’s some kind of baseball mental side to things to keep their mind sharp.”
Wildcat baseball returns to action today at home against the ACGC Chargers. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
