The Paton-Churdan School District has announced some resources and different opportunities for anyone to gather together following the sudden passing of a beloved staff member.

According to the district, the public is invited to a vigil for their Secretary Heather Lansman, who tragically passed away from fatal injuries in an accident last Thursday. The first vigil will be held tonight at 6:30pm at the Paton Community Center/City Park. The second vigil is going to be on Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Churdan Community Center/City Park. The district encourages individuals who attend either service that it is a time for reflection and to be in the company of the P-C family.

Additionally, P-C Counselor Libby Towers says if parents and/or children are having difficulty navigating through these sorrowful times, she is offering a few resources to help. According to her post on the P-C School Facebook page, that even though there isn’t a magic wand or pill that people can take to lessen the pain that is being felt, one of the biggest things people can do when they are grieving is showing their love and support, and to help kids cope in healthy ways.
