With just two full weeks of the Greene County High School softball regular season remaining, Coach Tom Kennedy’s team realistically could post more wins than losses overall, and in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. Riding a four game winning streak prior to going to Roland tonight vs. Roland-Story, the Rams are 10-9 on the season and 7-6 in conference play. The Rams went 4-2 last week, including meeting three of the top four HOIAC teams in a row, lost to Grand View Christian (Des Moines) and PCM (Monroe), before winning vs. West Marshall (State Center). After nipping the Trojans 5-4 on Thursday, the Rams were 6-2 winners vs. Nevada on Friday, then won twice in tournament play at Deinson on Saturday, winning 7-5 vs. Underwood, and 12-4 vs. Glenwood via the eight-run rule.

Keeping the four game winning streak going and staying above .500 overall and in conference play means getting a victory vs. the Norsemen tonight. R-S topped the Rams in Jefferson earlier this month 6-3 in eight innings after Greene County led 3-0 in the first frame. R-S is the final upper division team in the conference left on the Rams’ schedule.
