
The AC/GC Chargers took on the Woodward-Granger Hawks last night, with the softball team falling 10-2 and the baseball team falling 9-4.
In the baseball game, AC/GC was held scoreless in the first inning, while Woodward-Granger put up two runs. In the second inning the Chargers tallied three runs, with the Hawks picking up four, and both teams were scoreless in the third inning. AC/GC picked up another run in the fourth inning, and Woodward-Granger secured three more runs, and both teams were scoreless in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, ending the game with the 9-4 loss for the Chargers.
In the softball game, both teams picked up a run in the first inning, and were held scoreless in the second. AC/GC was held scoreless in the third inning, while Woodward-Granger was able to string together eight runs. The Chargers were able to get a run in the fourth inning while keeping the Hawks from scoring, with the opposite happening in the fifth inning, ending the game with the 10-2 loss for AC/GC. Karli Kautzky had a hit all three at bats, with a fly ball to second in the first inning, later making it around the bases. She also had a ground ball to third that was used in the force out at the base, along with a ground ball that slipped by the shortstop for a single in the fifth.
