The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team cruised to their 12th consecutive win on Wednesday, scoring a season high of 22 runs in a shutout against Carroll on the road in four innings.
The Tigers have been playing some impressive softball as of late, and despite not playing since Saturday due to the weather, the bats were still plenty warm. ADM exploded out the gates by marking 5 runs in the top half of the first inning, then got 7 runs in the second to lead 12-0 after two, and rolled another 10 in the third inning to carry them to a 22-0 win in four innings.
The Tigers had 11 different players score for them as senior Madi James led the way, as she scored 4 runs off 2 hits, and garnered 3 RBIs. Junior Ellis Smith also had a big game, scoring 2 runs off 3 hits, and had 3 RBIs for her.
Winning pitcher was ADM sophomore Makenna Pitlick, who went 2 innings and had 2 strikeouts. Junior Lauren Hagedorn pitched the other 2 innings and struck out 5.
Carroll remains winless at 0-16 overall (0-8 inside the Raccoon River Conference), while ADM makes it 12 in a row, getting to 18-5 (7-3 RRC). Carroll is hosting South Central Calhoun tonight at 6pm, while ADM is looking to make it 13 wins in a row in Winterset, as the game will be played at 2pm.
