On Wednesday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs baseball team played host to the Newton Cardinals in double header action. The Mustangs would win both games by at least ten runs, winning game one 11-1, and game two 15-2.

The Mustangs would use two pitchers for both games as Brady Smith would get the starting nod for game one, pitching for three innings allowing only one hit, one walk, and four strikeouts. Connor Stolpe would relieve Smith in the fourth, pitching for two innings allowing three hits, one run, one error and three strike outs in the 11-1 victory. The Mustangs would combine for 9 RBIs, as Josiah Cox, Tate Brendaland and Braydon Schyvinck would all have two RBIs with Schyvinck ending the game in the fifth with a solo home run to defeat Newton 11-1.

In game two, Lincoln Harris would get the starting nod and pitch for two innings allowing one hit with one walk and three strikeouts. Jaxson Seidl would close the game for DCG, allowing two hits and two runs in two innings, with three walks. Harris would lead the team in RBIS with three, with a two RBI double in the bottom of the third scoring Schyvinck and Cross Bandy to help the Mustangs defeat Newton 15-2.

Mustang baseball returns to action on Friday as DCG plays host to the Norwalk Warriors. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm with coverage on KDLS beginning around 6:45pm.
