The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team powered through in the final inning to garner their seventh victory of the 2025 season from Merchants Park in Carroll on Wednesday.
It was a battle of the Tigers inside the Raccoon River Conference, as Raccoon Valley Radio had the coverage. Carroll got on the board first with one run across in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. ADM would tie it at 1-1 in the top of the third when senior Cade Fisher had a sacrifice fly to score sophomore Alex Jensen.
From there, both teams had opportunities to get runners in, but couldn’t capitalize before ADM broke through in the top of the seventh inning, driving in three runs to give them their first advantage of the night at 4-1. In the bottom half of the seventh, Carroll made it interesting loading the bases, but ADM was able to acquire the three outs they needed to secure the 4-1 win.
Besides Jensen, sophomore Ben Plaisance as well as seniors Jaxson Book and Grant Jansen captured the other runs for ADM. Sophomore Chase Schable tallied the lone run for Carroll. ADM’s Jensen got the win on the mound, going 4 innings and allowed 5 hits. Sophomore Jack Siefken began the game, finishing 3 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, walked 3 batters, and struck out 1. Losing pitcher was Carroll junior Trey Tassell, who went all 7 innings, allowed 7 hits, 4 runs, walked 5 batters, and had 1 strikeout. Carroll stranded 11 runners in the game, while ADM left 9 runners on base.
Carroll falls to 6-11 overall (0-8 RRC), as ADM snaps a five-game losing streak, improving to 7-16 (2-9 RRC). Carroll will stay home to host South Central Calhoun tonight, while ADM is traveling south to Winterset to face off against the Huskies at 2pm.
