
A Greene County native is returning to Greene County Medical Center as a provider.
According to the medical center, Dawn Tingwald will be working in the Family Medicine Clinic starting in July. The certified nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner that is originally from Rippey, Tingwald says she previously worked at Greene County Medical Center as a registered nurse for 12 years, where she gained knowledge in all departments. She goes on to say that she came back for her nurse practitioner certification and did some rotations in mental health with Doctor of Nursing Practice Specializing in Behavioral and Mental Health Heather Wilson.
Tingwald states that it was during those rotations that she wanted to return to her roots in healthcare. According to the medical center, Tingwald can treat patients of all ages and will be a benefit with her additional training in behavioral healthcare as well.
Tingwald earned an associate’s degree from Iowa Central Community College, and then received bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as a post-graduate degree in the nursing, family nurse practitioner and mental health nurse practitioner fields from Clarkson College. She also serves as the treasurer of the Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is married to Garrett and they have two school age children with nine-year-old Evelyn and Colton who is seven.
