KDLS will have the broadcast tonight of Perry softball as they host South Hamilton at 7P.

Emotions will be high as the Jayettes celebrate the two seniors on the roster during Senior Night.  Long time former softball coach, Tina Lutterman, coached Taryn Nehring and Tina Kanealy for four years.  The current AD knows they’ve brought a lot to the program.  Lutterman mentioned Nehring as one of the better Perry athletes of recent memory.

“Taryn Nehring has been a great outfielder for us the past several years and I continue to watch her grow in that position.  I saw her make one of the best catches I’ve seen on a softball field just last night when we were finishing up our game with PCM.  I know she has a great career ahead of her running at Grandview and she’s been a great great member of our team and just a wonderful asset for Activities Department while she was here at PHS.”

Tina Kaneally has seen her role increase in her swan song.  Her former coach is appreciative for the hard work she’s put in.

Tina has been a pitcher with our program for many years.  She’s very dedicated and she works very hard and I really like the way she’s taking the team on her shoulders this year and she’s really owned the pitching circle and she’s done a great job keeping us in games and challenging batters and I’m really proud of the work that she’s put in for her years at PHS.”

The Jayettes beat the Hawks on June 6 10-3.  Kalley and Karagyn Whelchel each had two hits.  Kaneally earned the win in seven innings of work.

The two seniors will be honored during tonight’s game against South Hamilton.  Perry enters with a 5-8-1 record while SH is 7-17. KDLS will have the broadcast tonight at 6:50P.
