Jefferson and surrounding area youth that are going to be third through sixth graders are invited to a program with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department to work on specific skills for a certain sport.

JPRD Assistant Director Henry Pohlmeyer says the Youth Volleyball Camp is happening Monday and Tuesday, with the third and fourth graders from 10:30-11:45am and the fifth and sixth graders from 11:45am-1pm, at the Greene County Community Center.  He explains who the lead instructor is going to be that will teach participants all of the skills needed for volleyball.

“It’s going to be Chris Heisterkamp. She has done a lot of our camps in the past. She does a really good job just teaching everything, a wide like sweep of every important skill that will take them from one level, to the next, (and) to the next.”

The cost is $20 for community center members and $25 for non-members. You can call the community center at 515-386-3412 or click here to sign up.
