
The state of Iowa has had plenty of rain recently, and it bodes well for the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area in terms of drought conditions.
The U.S. Drought Monitor shows that Greene County is completely out of drought, while only the western side of Guthrie County and an eastern portion of Dallas County are abnormally dry. According to the National Weather Service, as of June 25th, Jefferson has seen 6.44 inches of rain, ahead of its average monthly rate of 4.53 inches; Guthrie Center sits at 6.06 inches of rain, in front of its monthly average of 4.57 inches; and Perry has accumulated 6.65 inches of rain, well above the June monthly average of 4.25 inches.
