Typical set of dice for Dungeons and Dragons
Jefferson area youth are invited to join the Jefferson Public Library for an expanded program in July.
Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says there are several sessions of Dungeons and Dragons this Tuesday and Wednesday. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this role-playing game has been growing among youth and she is excited to bring back this opportunity, but for all youth age levels. She points out that the library will have everything that participants will need to do these mini-campaigns.
“I do want to preface because you hear Dungeons and Dragons and you go, ‘I need to make a character, I need to roll, I need to do all of this stuff.’ Guys, do not worry, we have the pre-rolled character sheets, we have the Dungeon Masters, one of which is yours truly, it’ll be my first time as a Dungeon Master. We’ll have the dice and we’ll have the campaigns as well. All you guys need to do is sign up and sort of bring your love for adventure and your willingness to get a little weird.”
Kindergarten through fourth grade will be on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 5th-12th grade are on Wednesday also from 2-4pm. Both activities are free and locations will be determined based on how many sign up. Mount adds that there will be additional D&D sessions coming up at the end of July.
