The Scranton Alumni Association has been hard at work with some projects this year for the community center.

Dawn Rudolph, with the Scranton Alumni Association, tells Raccoon Valley Radio one of their main projects this year was replacing the roof. Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation gave a $68,500 grant toward the project, which Rudolph says is complete. Another grant from the Greene County Community Foundation for $34,000 is being used toward another project in renovating one of the upper story rooms that students with the Greene County School District use for the bus stop.

The final grant recently came from the Jefferson Rotary Club for $2,500 to help purchase an indoor sports cage for the community center. Rudolph says the cage will be used for indoor batting and golf practice. She notes that the equipment will save families and athletes time and money by staying in town and not having to travel outside of the county. The cage is slated to be installed later this summer.
