The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library held their End of Summer Reading Program party yesterday.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that participants in the program read 38,330 minutes during June, with children able to win prizes by earning drawing tickets for participating in programs and filling out their reading logs. Prizes were provided through purchase using funds from the Communities 4 Children and Community Partnerships for Protecting Children Neighborhood/Community Network Mini Grant. Hawkins shares that the participants and those in attendance had a lunch of burgers and hot dogs which were donated by Hometown Foods in Guthrie Center.
