The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released postseason softball pairings on Friday and Greene County opens Class 3A Region 4 play on the home diamond in Jefferson. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams will host Des Moines Christian from the West Central Activities Conference on Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m. at the City Diamond on East Lincolnway. The game will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The Rams are 13-9 and riding a seven game winning streak heading into this week, while the Lions were 12-9 when the pairings came out. The winner is likely to face highly rated PCM in Monroe on July 12. The Mustangs open vs. Southeast Valley (Gowrie). The four teams in the bottom half of the bracket are Missouri Valley, Washington High of Cherokee, Unity Christian (Orange City), and OABCIG (Ida Grove). The Region 4 final is set for July 15 on the home diamond of the IGHSAU highest rated team.
