
On Saturday, the West Central Valley Wildcats softball team made the long journey to Melcher-Dallas for the Coal Miners’ Classic softball tournament. The Wildcats would face off against the Seymour Warriorettes and HLV-Tri-County Warriors.
WCV would face off against Seymour first, defeating the Warriorettes 5-1. Grace Bleckwehl would pitch the complete game for the Wildcats, pitching seven innings allowing five hits, one run, and five strikeouts. Bleckwehl, Maren Hoffmann, and Cadence Heilman would all have one RBI, alongside Mila Orr with two pushing the Wildcats ahead of Seymour 5-1.
Orr and Bleckwehl would share the mound against HLV/Tri-County in the tough 12-0 loss. Orr and Lili Gilbert would have the lone two hits for West Central Valley, with Orr pitching for two innings allowing six runs, eight hits and one strikeout.
Wildcat softball returns to action on Monday as West Central Valley plays host to the Woodward-Granger Hawks. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
