The Perry Chamber of Commerce will be making a late-minute push to raise money for their 4th of July fireworks show on Friday.
Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti highlights that the day will be full of events, beginning with the parade at 10am. She notes that line up will start at 9am at the East Perry Plaza by Stokley Lumber, and organizations that still want to join can for free, just need to contact the chamber’s office at (515)-465-4601.
Pasutti indicates that the chamber is partnering with the Perry Junior Class as their bucket brigade will help fundraise money for the “After Prom” activities, and that is split with proceeds going towards the July 4th fireworks show, as there is an $18,000 goal and the chamber is sitting at $16,352.01. She loves seeing the variety of floats that makes its way down Willis Avenue.
“The 4th of July Parade is always just such a great turnout of creativity, of floats, and people showing their support and their patriotism, and it’s just really fun to see what people come up with.”
Pasutti points out that following the parade, vendors will set up at Pattee Park for an afternoon of fun activities. She details that there will be Bingo in the shelter from 1-4pm, live music by Retrospect at 6pm in the bandshell, then ending the evening with fireworks at 9:30pm.
