Softball postseason assignments have been released and Perry will open with an old conference foe.

On Friday of last week, the IGHSAU set the Regional brackets for softball.  Perry entered the seeding day with a 5-8-1 record.  The Jayettes were placed in Region 7 in 4A as the sixth seed.  They will open with Boone on Thursday, June 10.  Emma Olejniczak was excited for the draw.

I think being a former RRC player myself as well as my assistant coach, we like some of those are RRC draws.  We know that they may not take us to seriously as we have left the RRC now so we’ll start prepping for them right away we’ll do a lot of scouting when we go and play them.”

A fun wrinkle to the schedule is that Boone and Perry will meet on July 3 for a non conference game before the playoff game on July 10.  Coach Olejniczak plans to coach the two games very differently.

I have three pitchers so we’ll be able to save you know some of our secret weapons and at that point it’s just a non-conference game and we’ll go get some reps to prepare for July 10th.”

The winner of Boone and Perry will advance to take on Strom Lake in the bottom half of the bracket.  The opening round game in top half will see Spencer host Ballard.  The winner will take on the top team in the region North Polk.

The Jayettes finish their conference schedule tonight at Grand View Christian at 7P.
