
The Iowa State Patrol has identified the victim in the fatal rear-ending crash that happened in Greene County Tuesday Afternoon.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams says a car was following a tractor heading south on E Avenue, and the car rear-ended the tractor between 320th and 330th Streets at 3:41pm. He states that the impact of the collision forced the tractor to roll into the ditch. Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio the driver of the tractor was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the car was uninjured. Iowa State Patrol reports that the deceased driver was 63-year-old Michael Dahl of Scranton. Williams says both vehicles are total losses.
The case remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Williams adds that Bayard and Scranton Fire Departments, Greene County Ambulance and an air ambulance assisted at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
