The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center is prepared for the month of July.

Library Director Jerri Hawkins mentions that coming off of a busy June, which includes the end of the Summer Reading Program, July is fairly quiet. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that besides their regular events and services, they do have opportunities for patrons to show off items as well.

“We have quilts and collectibles on display here. So if you have a quilt that you would like to display at the library, give us a call, we’ll get you put on that list. Or if you have a collection that you would like to maybe display in our locked glass case, give us a call, we’d love to share your collection with everybody.”

Hawkins mentions that their events this month include their usual monthly ones, like the Friday Story Hours, book club meetings, along with some craft days. She adds that with the 4th of July being on Friday, they will be closed for the day, but will be open for their regular hours on Saturday.
