A Scranton man was killed from a rear-ending crash Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 1989 Mercury car that was driven by 62-year-old Neal Schoon of Bayard, was traveling south on Iowa Highway 25 behind a 1969 Farmall Tractor that was driven by 63-year-old Michael Dahl of Scranton. The State Patrol crash report states that the car struck the rear-end of the tractor near 330th Street, which caused the tractor to roll into the west ditch and knocked Dahl off.

The report shows that Dahl was pronounced dead at the scene while Schoon was uninjured, and both vehicles were total losses.

The case remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. The Bayard and Scranton Fire Departments, Greene County Ambulance and an air ambulance assisted at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
