The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team kept their foot on the gas peddle, roaring to a 8-0 shutout victory in Atlantic on Tuesday for the 17th win in a row.
The Tigers have not lost since June 9th in the second game of the double header against Bondurant-Farrar, and seem to be clicking on all cylinders. Tuesday was no different as ADM captured 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning, before getting 1 in the 2nd. The Tigers flipped the script in the final 2 innings, tallying a single run in the 6th inning and 3 more in the top of the 7th to carry them to an 8-0 victory.
Eight players scored runs for ADM including Elliotte Von Roden, Lauren Hagedorn, Kinzie Maxwell, Madi James, Aubrey Noring, Ellis Smith, Peyton Herrick, and Lauryn Troster. Tiger sophomore Makenna Pitlick pitched 4 innings, allowed 4 hits, and got 2 strikeouts. Hagedorn went 3 innings and acquired 4 strikeouts.
The losing pitcher for Atlantic was junior Zoey Kirchhoff, who went the distance of all 7 innings, giving up 11 hits, 7 runs, walked 2 batters, and struck out 1, as an error by sophomore Jillian Saathoff allowed the other run.
The Trojans drop to 22-12 and will host Treynor tonight for senior night at 7pm, while the Tigers climb to 23-5 and prepare for a battle with the Comets of North Polk in Adel at 7pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, starting around 6:45pm.
