With the 4th of July holiday getting closer, Jefferson and surrounding residents don’t have to go too far to see a free show.

Jefferson City Administrator Scott Peterson says the city is once again co-hosting a free fireworks display at dusk on Friday at the Greene County Fairgrounds. He acknowledges all of the partnerships that make this event possible once again.

“So the City is happy to partner with Wild Rose (Casino and Resort) on this fireworks display and be able to bring that to the public. And again, it’s out at the fairgrounds, so thanks to the fairgrounds, to the (Greene County) Fair Board for allowing this to be the site where the fireworks are shot. So expect that we would have a terrific display and get out and enjoy the 4th of July.”

Peterson invites anyone to stop out to the fairgrounds on East Lincoln Way to catch the show, but lots of residents that live close to that area can certainly enjoy them from the comfort of their own yards. He adds that the city is having the long-time company J&M Displays back to run the fireworks show.
