On Tuesday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs softball team played host to the Southeast Polk Rams. DCG would hold onto the lead for four innings, before a big fifth inning by the Rams would shift the momentum into the Rams favor defeating the Mustangs 10-7.
The Mustangs would have four total homeruns against the Rams with Genevieve York, Sophia Bauman, Addie Abens and Jenah Gray all having homeruns against the Rams. But three errors in the fifth would shift the momentum into SE Polk’s favor and they would not look back, scoring five runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to defeat DCG 10-7.
Mustang softball returns to action on Thursday as DCG plays host to 11 other teams for the DCG Tournament. The Mustangs face off against Dowling Catholic first on Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 12:45pm.
