The Stuart Public Library is getting ready for some fun events during July.

Librarian Rachel Majerus mentions that the month is mainly filled with their regular monthly programs, but that there are a few differences, like Books and Badges being on Wednesday July 16th instead of a Thursday. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they will be holding a Teddy Bear Check Up in conjunction with Guthrie County Public Health with Dr. Silker, and why they wanted to have the event.

“We really thought that there would be a pretty good turnout for it. That it just sounds so cute, and it serves both a purpose of being entertaining but also with the hope that it’s going to help children become more comfortable with doctors, (and) doctor’s office visits, as they get ready for their school checkups.”

Majerus mentions that children will be able to bring their favorite stuffed animal for the event, and that Dr. Silker will give them a full examination. She adds that there will also be some stuffed animals at the library that can be adopted, with adoption papers that can be filled out.
