
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team are seeing the bats wake up, as the offense put up double digit runs to power them to a 12-2 victory over Ogden on Tuesday in 6 innings on a night longtime Bulldog Head Coach Dick Smith was honored.
Raccoon Valley Radio had the broadcast as Smith was recognized prior to Tuesday’s game to celebrate his retirement of 44 years as the head coach of the Ogden Baseball Team.
The Bulldogs captured the first 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, as they were tallied by junior Keagan Ristvedt and sophomore Thomas Bergstrom. The Tigers would chip away, scoring a single run in the 2nd inning, followed by another run in the 3rd to tie the game at 2-2. The top of the 4th inning saw ADM garnered 3 more runs across the plate to take their first advantage of the evening at 5-2. The Tigers added 2 runs in the 5th inning, then 5 came in the top of the 6th inning to carry them to a 12-2 win in 6 innings.
ADM courtesy runner Reid Kluesner marked 3 runs scored, with Alex Jensen right behind with 2 runs. After that, capturing individual runs for the Tigers was Jaxson Book, Auggie Young, Cade Fisher, Leyton Gerleman, Cael Stanford, Jack Siefken, and Mason Entriken. Book was the winning pitcher, going 3.2 innings, allowed 4 hits, 2 runs, walked 6 batters, and had 4 strikeouts.
The losing pitcher was Ogden junior Colson Carson, who went 3 innings, allowed 6 hits, 2 runs, and struck out 5. The Bulldogs drop to 12-15 as they will start Substate play on Saturday hosting Panorama at 7pm, while the Tigers improve to 9-18 overall, and gear up for a single conference game tonight against North Polk in Adel at 7pm.
