On Tuesday, the West Central Valley Wildcat baseball and softball teams traveled to Urbandale to face off against the Des Moines Christian Lions in double header action. Wildcat softball would split the decision against the Lions, while WCV baseball would fall in both games against DMC.

Wildcat softball would only be able to score two runs in game one, falling to the Lions 2-10. Lily Clausen and Paige Bleckwehl would have the two lone RBIs for WCV in game one. In game two, WCV would flip the script, defeating DMC 13-5 as the bats would wake up for WCV achieving nine hits and 10 RBIs as a team. Grace Bleckwehl would end game two with four RBIs, while Maren Hoffmann would come in second with two helping WCV defeat DMC 13-5.

Wildcat baseball would not find the same success falling to DMC in both games, 18-2 and 10-4. WCV would be held to single digit RBIs and hits throughout both games, with Zach Teague and Tryce Dlouhy having the two RBIs in game one, while Tyson Partlow would have two RBIs in game two alongside Miles Sheeler with one.

Both Wildcat teams return to action on Wednesday but against different opponents. WCV travels to Southeast Warren with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 while Wildcat softball travels to Afton to face off against East Union. Softball’s first pitch is scheduled for 6pm.
