Two longtime members of the Perry Golf and Country Club will be recognized during a yearly tournament on Sunday.

Memorial Golf Tournament Organizer Randy McCaulley shares that the country club in Perry will be home to the 12th annual event, with a special focus on Edward and Wilma Collins. He highlights that the Collins were pillars of the country club during their 50 year marriage. McCaulley reveals that Eddie had a long career as an engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad, and also served on the Perry Elks Lodge and a board member for the country club.

McCaulley points out that Wilma had a 65 year career as a tax consultant and legal secretary for Willis and Sacket Law Office in Perry. He explains that she was active in the community, being apart of the Elks Lodge, having served on the Perry Parks and Recreation Board, volunteered at the Carnegie Library Museum, as well as the Dallas County Hospital Gift Shop, and also went on a seven mile bike ride every day until the age of 90.

McCaulley outlines that the tee times for participants are at 7:30am, 8am, and 11:20am. He adds that individuals who want to play will need to contact the Perry Golf and Country Club at (515)-465-3852. The cost to participate is $35, and $20 if people need to borrow a cart. McCaulley says that the Collins will be honored by family and friends inside the clubhouse prior to the tee-off of the Championship Flight’s final nine holes.
