The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team was shutout by North Polk 8-0 in 6 innings on Wednesday, snapping their 17-game winning streak.

Raccoon Valley Radio had the coverage as the Comets jumped on the Tigers early on, scoring 6 runs in the top half of the 1st inning, followed by 1 in the 3rd, and 1 more run in the 6th inning to split the season series. Senior Ava Husak was exceptional on the mound, going all 6 innings, allowed 5 hits, and captured 7 strikeouts. Sophomore Madelyn Klever led North Polk, finishing 2-4 scoring 2 runs and it was senior Katelyn Klever going 1-3 with 2 runs. 

The losing pitcher was ADM sophomore Makenna Pitlick, who went 0.1 innings, allowing 4 hits and 5 runs, while junior Lauren Hagedorn finished 5.2 innings, allowed 7 hits, 3 runs, walked a batter, and struck out 3. 

The Comets improve to 26-5 overall (12-2 inside the Raccoon River Conference), while the Tigers are now 23-6 (11-4 RRC). Both teams are participating in the Dallas Center-Grimes Invitational today, as North Polk is facing Dowling Catholic at 11am and Ankeny at 2:30pm, with ADM battling Ankeny at 11am, and Johnston at 2:30pm.
