It’s not often two long winning streaks are on the line when Greene County and Ogden meet in non-conference softball, but that’s the case tonight at the Jefferson Softball Park on East Lincolnway. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams have won the last nine games they’ve played while the Bulldogs have done the Rams one better with victories in their last 10 games. Overall, the Rams are 15-9 while Ogden is 19-11. The Rams have out scored their opponents by a score of 81-33 during the wining steak and the Bulldogs have put up similar numbers during their streak.
Both come from conferences dominated by highly rated teams. Van Meter won the West Central Activities Conference title and PCM (Monroe) has the Heart of Iowa crown wrapped up. Those two met a few days ago with VM winning 5-4 in 14 innings. Ogden and Greene County went a combined 0-4 in conference play vs. those two powerhouses.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage starting shortly after 7 p.m. and first pitch set for 7:30 p.m.
