On Thursday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs baseball team traveled to Ankeny High School to battle against the Hawks. The Mustangs would battle, but Ankeny would have some great hits finding gaps in the Mustang defense to defeat DCG 6-5.

The Mustangs would use three pitchers against the Hawks with Brady Smith, Chase Engel and Connor Stolpe all pitching for the Mustangs. Smith would pitch for 2.2 innings allowing three hits, six runs, six errors and four strikeouts while Engel and Stolpe would both also end the night with one strikeout.

Tate Perrin, Tatin Gray, Cross Bandy and Braydon Schyvinck would all have RBIs with Gray notching in two. Tate Perrin would hit a solo homerun in the fifth to help bring the Mustangs closer but DCG would fall to Ankeny in the end 6-5.

Mustang baseball returns to action on Monday to face off against the Johnston Dragons at Johnston Middle School. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
