The Perry Chamber of Commerce is recognizing Independence Day with a list of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Director Lynsi Pasutti invites people out to be apart of the 4th of July celebration, with the parade at 10am. She shares that it will start at East Perry Plaza east of town, then will travel two miles west on Willis Avenue, then make a left at West 3rd Street ending up at Pattee Park.

Pasutti highlights that vendors will line up in the park, including Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio that will be broadcasting from 11am-3pm. She says there will be bingo in the shelter from 1-4pm, followed by musical entertainment provided by the band Retrospect at 6pm inside the park bandshell, who plays several genres of pop, rock, and R and B music. Pasutti loves every aspect of the July 4th celebration, but is really fond of seeing people together.

“One thing that I really enjoy is seeing so many familiar faces out at the park with their families, and you just know that this event brings people together, and they’re celebrating community, enjoying tradition, so it’s kind of more of that bringing people together, getting people out to enjoy all the great things that we have. Just seeing all the smiles and laughter and everything, so from the parade to the gathering down at the park, that’s probably the best part for me.”

Pasutti details the evening will end with the grand finale of the fireworks show at 9:30pm, as over $16,000 has been raised through several chamber events, and welcomes people to the park to bring lawn chairs or park somewhere close to watch from your car.
